A SIMPLE, EFFECTIVE REMEDY
FOR PET STAINS ON CARPETS
So, according to the website, you only need two products which most of us will have already. Vinegar and Baking soda. And again according to the website it is the order in which you use these products that makes the difference.
Step 1: Pour vinegar to soak the stain
Step 2: Add a small amount of baking soda on top of the area
Step 3: Let the spot dry for a day or two before cleaning up, sweep it up then just vacuum.
They claim that you will actually see the yellow color being absorbed and pulled up in to the baking soda, proving that it is removing the stain. And they claim that it works on OLD STAINS ALSO, that is a huge plus.

I forgot to mention, it is also suggested that while the spot is drying, you do not walk on it, just cover with something, in this case showing a plate, until the area is dry.
